Fundraising ideas
Fundraising is highly recommended to pay for Jamboree.
Discuss this with your Patrol or Unit to see what creative and lucrative ideas you can come up with.
Here are some fun, innovative and profitable options we have seen in the past, to get your creative juices flowing.
Need financial support?
We understand times can get hard, but you don't want your child to miss out, or to miss out yourself.
There are options available.
First up, we recommend fundraising; see the section above for ideas.
Secondly, we recommend talking to your leaders or group leader about this. Your Group may have other agreements in place for costs, ie., supplementing it for Leaders. This needs to be discussed with your Group.
The third option is talking to the Contingent Leader; there are some grants and funding available for these events so people don't miss out for financial reasons.

The fine print - Policies
The conditions below apply to everyone attending AJ2028. If anything is unclear, contact your Branch Contingent before you apply.
Failure to make payment
If an application is not up to date with the payment schedule, or with alternative arrangements approved by the Branch Contingent, the application may be withdrawn and the applicant will need to reapply. Refunds are then considered under the Application
Withdrawal Policy
Independent travel
Some Contingents may permit their members to travel to the Jamboree independently of the arrangements organised by the Contingent team. This is a matter for Contingent management and should be discussed directly with your Contingent Leader.
Inherent requirements
It is an inherent requirement for adults attending the Jamboree that they be independently capable of, and willing to, perform their assigned role, which may be physically demanding over an extended period and in conditions such as outdoors, sun, heat and dust. Adults who may not be able to meet these requirements are invited to discuss their situation with their Contingent Leader. Any work performed at the event is on a voluntary basis, and adults must comply with any reasonable direction from the event management team, a Branch leadership team, or their delegates.
Medical obligations
Should your medical condition or regular medication change from the information provided on your medical statement in any way before departure for the Jamboree, it is your obligation to update your application details or advise your Branch Contingent of the change.
Event cancellation
In the unlikely event that the Jamboree is cancelled, Scouts Australia (which includes the relevant Branch and the Event Organising Committee), after settling any costs, would distribute all remaining funds to applicants. Families may wish to consider travel insurance.
Equipment insurance
The Jamboree will arrange insurance for Scout property, including group equipment, for its use at the Jamboree. This insurance does not cover personal property, which remains at the individual participant's own risk.
Personal property
You are responsible for any personal property you bring to the event. Scouts Australia (which includes the relevant Branch and the Event Organising Committee) assumes no responsibility for property left at, lost, or stolen at the event, or held pending collection. While every effort is made to handle personal property with care, no responsibility is taken for it.
Indemnity
If a member needs to be sent home for medical or discipline reasons, the applicant, or the applicant's parent or guardian, agrees that Scouts Australia (which includes the relevant Branch and the Event Organising Committee) is exempt from any resulting costs, which will be met by the applicant or their parent or guardian. No event fees will be refunded if this occurs.
